Irene de la Torre Arenas

Digital Designer

Irene de la Torre is a digital designer in the visual storytelling team, an interdisciplinary group of journalists combining reporting, data, design and coding skills.

Before joining the FT in October 2022, Irene was a visualisation lead at UCB Biopharma. She has also worked as a data designer in the Visual Journalism team at BBC News and as a data visualisation specialist at the MIT SENSEable City Lab.

In 2020, the project 'How Much Warmer is your city', done at BBC News, was recognised as Best Data Visualisation at the WAN-IFRA European Digital Media Award.
