Based in the FT’s Chicago bureau, Steff Chávez covers the US aerospace and defence industry, with a focus on Lockheed Martin, Raytheon Technologies, Northrop Grumman, and General Dynamics, and is a member of the breaking news team.
She previously reported on US airlines and domestic automakers as a Chicago correspondent. She also wrote about institutional investment for FT Specialist publication MandateWire. Prior to joining the FT in 2020, she held positions at the Earth Institute at Columbia University, Bloomberg, and in the art world.
She is a graduate of Bowdoin College and was a journalist in residence at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
